Kentucky State University – Rosenwald Center for Families and Children

KSU Center for Families and Children has received a LEED Silver rating from the USGBC. This is the first LEED building on the KSU campus and the first daycare in Kentucky to be certified. This new childcare facility was completed in August, 2012.

Designed to compliment the sloping site, the building  steps down in two directions via interior & exterior ramps. The two wings surround and protect the outdoor play areas. The 15,000 s.f. facility has an administrative office area, six classrooms ranging from infants to after-school care, observation rooms for students in KSU’s Early Childhood Education Program, a full-service kitchen, and a multi-purpose room for indoor play and group activities.
