Maysville Science Building

The New Building for the Maysville Community and Technical College Campus is a 20,000 s.f. science, office and general classroom facility with the following program components:

Chemistry Lab
Biology Labs (2)
Microbiology Labs
Physics Lab
Lecture Room for 60 persons (dividable)
Office Suite

The building is composed of brick, stucco and glass to compliment similar finishes throughout the campus. Its corridors are oriented towards the Campus green and help define its edge as proposed in the Master Plan. It is scheduled to be completed August 2009.

UofL Ekstrom Library Archives Begins Construction

Continuing with a successful partnership, Voelker.Blackburn.Niehoff Architects along with RMJM Hillier, look forward to the successful completion of the Ekstrom Library lower level renovation, which will house the McConnell-Chao Archives. This area of the lobby will include exhibits on the political lives of Senator Mitch McConnell and Secretary Elaine Chao. A Reading Room for research and a storage vault to house important documents are also included in the renovation. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2008.

VBNA Selected for UK CAER Project

Voelker.Blackburn.Niehoff Architects has been selected along with Biagi, Chance, Cummins, London, Titzer, Inc. Consulting Engineers (BCCLT, Inc) to work on the University of Kentucky’s Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER) renovation & expansion project.

The University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research has a long tradition of fossil fuel research. While respecting that history, they recognize today’s constantly changing energy field. In order to respond to today and tomorrow’s needs, CAER strive to solve existing problems, while identifying potential future technologies.

Winchester-Clark County Facility Holding Classes

The recently completed Winchester-Clark County Facility, part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS), has opened its doors to students and has begun holding summer classes. The facility includes Classrooms, Nursing Lab, Bio-Chem Lab, Faculty Offices, Student Lounge and Administration Offices. The administration and faculty look forward to a full schedule in the fall.
