VBNA is completing design for a 3,500 sf house and barn in Simpson County KY. The house is organized around a garden court on the interior and to the exterior around its connections to the barn and farm garden. Views to the surrounding landscape were another organizing factor, screening neighbors in some directions and opening up to the open farmland in others. The house interior hinges around an open kitchen with a separate wing for the primary bedroom and an upper level guest suite. The house is designed with passive solar design and includes several different porches for flexibility and various daily microclimates.
